About Lake Shore Little League

Mathewson McCarthy Baseball’s House program serves players ages 4–19, offering divisions that grow with each age group. Kids start in Rookies 1 (T-Ball) to learn the basics, then progress through Rookies 2, AA, and Major 60/70 as pitching and field sizes advance. Older players move into Seniors and Big League, playing on full diamonds with complete baseball rules. Each level focuses on skill development, sportsmanship, and preparing athletes for the next stage of play.

Mathewson McCarthy Baseball’s Bandits Travel Program gives players ages 8U–18U the chance to compete at a higher level through tournament play. Team selections are made through tryouts, where athletes are evaluated not only on their skills but also on their sportsmanship, attitude, and teamwork. The travel season runs primarily from mid-July into August, with additional games and practices throughout the year. Off-season workouts are limited to keep a healthy balance, while still providing opportunities for players to train and develop in preparation for the season.

About Lake Shore Little League

Lake Shore Little League’s Baseball program offers divisions for boys and girls starting as young as age 3 with Squirts, a parent-participation division to learn the basics of catching, throwing, hitting, and base running. As players age, they progress to Coed T-Ball (4-6) for learning hitting off a tee, then into the 8U Instructional division (6-8), which includes coach or machine pitch. Older players compete in 10U Kid Pitch, 12U Kid Pitch (Majors), and 16U Kid Pitch (Boys Juniors), where regulations become more formal: use of real baseballs, umpires, scorekeeping, standings, and end-of-season playoffs, all tailored to match the age group’s needs.

The Softball side at Lake Shore offers girls divisions from 7-8 up through 13-16. The 7-8 Instructional division (which may accept some age 6 players) transitions girls from T-Ball to coach/modified player pitch, using 60’ base paths and a 32’ pitching distance. As they move up to 9-10 Kid Pitch (Ponytail) and 11-12 Major divisions, standard softballs are used, umpires officiate, and play becomes more competitive. The oldest group (13-16 Junior) plays full player pitch with standard 12” softballs and full game structure, and teams often travel to play opponents from neighboring towns.
