Back in 2012, there was this little brewery called Community Beer Works that popped up in a garage on Lafayette Ave in Buffalo’s West Side neighborhood. They were all about crafting some top-notch beers using locally-sourced ingredients. Let me tell you, people were raving about their innovative brews and their dedication to keeping things fresh and local.
Well, as time went on, Community Beer Works started gaining more and more fans. They decided to expand and opened a new taproom and production facility just down the road, tucked away on 7th St in Buffalo’s Lower West Side. This place is something else, I tell you. They have this massive brewing system that you can see through the windows, a spacious tasting room with a full restaurant, front and back patios (try to grab back patio seats if you are going out with friends), and plenty of room for folks to kick back and enjoy their brews. And get this, they even have themselves a canning line, so now you can find their beer all over New York State!
Recently, CBW announced their soon-to-open new Brewery and Taproom that will be repurposing the building located on Elmwood between Bidwell Parkway and Potomac Ave. I, who lives very close, am very excited for a CBW to be walking distance from my apartment.
Now, here’s the really cool part. Community Beer Works isn’t just about making great beer; they also have a heart for giving back to the community. They are always lending a hand at local fundraisers and making donations to charities and organizations in need.
Their mission is all about bringing people together and creating a sense of unity through the love of beer. They may have started in the City of Good Neighbors, but they’ve worked hard to become a cherished part of the not only the West Side community but all of Buffalo that has welcomed them.
