DESCRIPTION:3rd Doctors of the World with the BPO\nBenefit Concert for Oishei Children’s Hospital \nThe BPO welcomes physicians from across the U.S. and the globe to perform side by side with the orchestra in a concert that celebrates the ongoing efforts to connect our local and international communities. This recurring event continues the meaningful collaboration between two outstanding community assets; the internationally acclaimed Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the world-renowned John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital\, with a mission to bring the culturals to children and families in the Hospital’s care\, and demonstrate the healing power of music. \nJoAnn Falletta conducts the performance on Wed Nov 6 at 7:30pm in Kleinhans Music Hall featuring Offenbach’s Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld and Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2. \nDonations at the door of building blocks (Mega blocks or Lego sets)\, crayons\, coloring books\, or other art supplies to benefit pediatric patients are gratefully accepted\, or you may make an online gift in support of the Oishei Healing Arts Program.

The evening will highlight Marisol: A Retrospective and pay tribute to an era that produced radically creative artists and art movements that continue to inspire us today. \nEnjoy a bubbly-filled cocktail hour\, seated three-course dinner\, and desserts prepared by the extraordinary chefs at Patina 250 along with live performances that echo the exuberance of the Swinging Sixties. In keeping with the 1960s theme\, guests are encouraged to take inspiration from the highlighted exhibitions in their gala attire.
