In this class\, learn best practices for cleaning up your garden beds\, amending your soil\, planning and planting bulbs for spring and more. I look forward to continuing the horticulture series with him.” – Amanda E. \nMeet your instructor\, David Clark!  \nDavid Clark has created and taught the wildly popular 7-level Horticulture Classes at The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens for 10 years. He is a Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional (CNLP)\, through the New York State Landscaping Association\, and PLANT Western New York. An avid gardener\, David has a degree in Floriculture from S.U.N.Y Cobleskill with over 30 years’ experience in the professional ornamental horticulture industry. \nA nationally recognized garden speaker\, David has given presentations locally for Lockwood’s Greenhouses in Hamburg\, NY; Urban Roots Community Garden Center\, Grass Roots Gardens and Massachusetts Avenue Project in Buffalo\, NY; Cornell Cooperative Master Gardeners of Erie\, Allegany & Cattaraugus Counties; The New York State Federated 8th District Garden Clubs; and the Erie County Pennsylvania Western Division Garden Clubs Judges Council. Along with being a visiting horticulture instructor at Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh\, PA\, he has spoken at events across the United States and Canada including Bradford Pennsylvania’s ‘Betty Jane Monjar Landscape and Garden Symposium\, the West Coast’s largest Spring Garden Show in Costa Mesa\, California\, and the Northeast Floral Expo in Groton\, Connecticut. David Clark is featured in Television segments\, YouTube videos\, the National Garden Festival and Buffalo Garden Walk websites\, the Buffalo News\, The Upstate Gardeners Journal\, and the Buffalo\, NY “Spree Magazine”. He is a regular contributor to the Buffalo-NiagaraGardening.com online magazine and the #GardenChatter online gardening site. David has been interviewed for gardening podcasts originating in Toronto\, Canada\, Portland\, Oregon\, and New York City. \nDavid specializes in orchids and carnivorous plants. Use carving tools to create your own unique linoleum print block and artwork. Discover this century old process while drawing inspiration from the beautiful plant collection. Participants will be guided through the entire process of sketching\, carving\, and printing. All supplies are included.  \nOctober 7 \nRegistration closes October 4 \nClass Information and Procedures  \nMeet your instructor! \nLiz Gatto  \nLiz Gatto is a new face at the Botanical Gardens\, joining our team in April of 2023 as our Educator and Program Coordinator. Liz graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History with Museum Studies from Niagara University. She is passionate about museum education and is excited to bring her creativity to the gardens. Her special interests include Botanical Illustration\, Impressionism\, and the history of Land Art. Prior to joining the Botanical Gardens’ team\, Liz worked in the department of Art and Family Programs for several years at Artpark in Lewiston\, NY and has interned with multiple galleries including the Buffalo AKG Art Museum. Liz is also an artist herself\, her love for botany and nature shines through her personal artwork. She is very much looking forward to getting the public inspired by the gardens and offering creative workshops. In her spare time Liz enjoys drawing\, painting\, traveling\, drinking coffee\, visiting museums\, and taking care of her many houseplants!
