Snell attended Hartwick College, where he played under legendary coach Jim Lennox. From 1976 to 1979, Snell was a key player on Hartwick’s soccer team. His time with the team culminated in the 1977 NCAA Men’s Division I Soccer Championship, a defining moment in his early career. Alongside his teammates, Snell cemented his legacy as a goalkeeper who thrived under pressure.

A Professional Career in Soccer

FC Viersen in Germany, becoming one of the few Americans competing in German soccer’s top three divisions during that era. Snell later returned to the U.S. to play in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). He also created the Premier team format, grouping top players together to maximize their potential and ensure competitive training.

Snell’s work as a coach extended beyond Dallas. After taking time to study youth academies worldwide and learn from global soccer legends like Pep Guardiola, Snell became the inaugural head coach of Fort Worth Vaqueros FC in 2014. Under his leadership, the Vaqueros launched a groundbreaking free youth academy to provide talented players in the Fort Worth area with the resources to succeed. His commitment to accessibility and development ensured that soccer remained a sport of opportunity for all.
