Sherry Arndt

Sherry Arndt is a proud Buffalo resident, living with her daughter Rhea and their adored family pet, Meatball. Hailing from Erie, Pennsylvania and growing up in a military household, Arndt quickly became adept at embracing a life filled with constant change. With a fascination for the human experience and ever-shifting dynamics of location, personalities, and cultures, Arndt’s artistic pursuits naturally gravitated towards psychology.

In 2009, Arndt embarked on her artistic journey under the guidance of the esteemed Mark DiVincenzo. Over a span of ten years, Arndt delved into a process of discovery, research, and experimentation, ultimately honing an unconventional technique for her abstract creations. Infusing her paintings with vibrant hues, intricate layers, and captivating textures, Arndt achieves depth and dimension by skillfully combining paint with elements like sand, glass, and textured mediums. The final touch is a revealing one, as Arndt masterfully unveils layers of materials by gently peeling away paint, unveiling a cracked surface that exposes the hidden damage and history we all carry beneath our public personas.

This journey of exploration consistently yields unpredictable and mesmerizing results, offering viewers an intimate glimpse into the unseen depths that lie behind the carefully crafted facades we present to the world.
