#OnThisDay In 1914, Women’s suffrage parade is held on Main Street. The previous year, in June, had been the first parade to demand that women receive the right to vote.
Following their massive campaign, women finally gained the right to vote in the State of New York in 1917, with New York being the first eastern state to do so.
