#OnThisDay In 2001, a 4-foot caiman is spotted swimming in Scajaquada Creek in Buffalo’s West Side. The crocodilian was given the nickname “Scajaquada Jack”. It took Buffalo Animal Control four days to retrieve Jack from the water.

While animal control was attemping to collect Jack, many civilians were spotted along the creek, offering dead chickens in an attempt to coax the caiman towards them. After Scaj Jack was retrieved, he went on to live the rest of his years in St. Augustine, Florida.

Is this your first time ever hearing the tale of Scajaquada Jack?
