#OnThisDay In 1935, The Bedell House is destroyed by a fire. The Bedell House was a gorgeous, ornate wooden three-story hotel that was located on Grand Island. The hotel was founded and opened by Ossian Bedell in the late 1800s. Bedell had made his fortune through owning the Buffalo and Grand Island Ferry.

The legacy of the Bedell family still lives on in Grand Island, with one of their streets having their namesake. Where you familiar with the Bedell House Hotel?
