#OnThisDay In 1902, Kenilworth Park Race Track formally opens. The buildings and track were constructed by the Buffalo Racing Association at the corner of Kenmore Avennue and Niagara Falls Boulevard. The race track was mainly used for horse races, commonly the “Derby” styl,\e, but it was the host of Buffalo’s first automobile races.

The park’s life was short lived, with the park closing 6 years leater in 1908, amidst the government beginning to regulate gambling and gaming.
