#OnThisDay In 1897, The Buffalo Public Library opens. The library, formerly operated by the Young Man’s Association, it entered a contractual agreement with the City of Buffalo. The City would provide sufficient funding for the Library and in return the Library has to become a free circulating library open to the public.
