Thursday Night Football lit up Highmark Stadium as the Buffalo Bills squared off against the Miami Dolphins in what promised to be a barnburner of an AFC East matchup. Buffalo, already 2-0, looked to keep their unbeaten streak alive. Miami, desperate to find their footing, came in with plenty of urgency but also with past frustrations lingering.

Cook delivers again

Miami came out swinging, striking first with a short rushing touchdown after a strong kick return, but the Bills stayed composed. Josh Allen connected with Dalton Kincaid and rookie Jackson Hawes for touchdowns, keeping Buffalo level. By halftime, the Dolphins tied things up, but the Bills looked confident and ready to make adjustments.

Coming out of the break, Buffalo leaned on their ground game, and James Cook delivered once again. His 2-yard touchdown run gave the Bills the lead and extended his streak to seven straight games with a rushing TD, tying a franchise record. Miami refused to go away, though—Tua Tagovailoa found Tyreek Hill for a score in the fourth quarter, and suddenly the game was tied again. At that point, it felt like anyone’s game.

When the pressure was highest, the Bills delivered.

Josh Allen threw a clutch 15-yard touchdown to Khalil Shakir—Allen’s 200th career passing TD—and linebacker Terrel Bernard intercepted Tagovailoa on Miami’s next drive, flipping the momentum completely. To seal it, kicker Matt Prater nailed a 48-yard field goal with just minutes left. The Bills’ defense, criticized at times for letting big plays slip through, came up with the stop when it mattered most, shutting down Miami’s last push.

This win pushes Buffalo to 3-0

This proves they can win tight games with composure and balance. The offense looks sharp, with Allen hitting milestones and Cook carrying the ground game, while the defense showed it can force turnovers under pressure. For Bills Mafia, the message is clear: this team isn’t just winning, they’re showing resilience and growth. Against a divisional rival, under the lights, Buffalo proved once again that they belong among the AFC’s elite.
