The name “Fruit Belt” comes mainly from the names of streets in the neighborhood, including Peach, Orange, Lemon, Peach, Grape, Cherry and Maple. The streets were given those names because the neighborhood was largely settled by German immigrants, who had planted orchards up and down the area.
