#OnThisDay In 1968, 1 M&T Plaza is dedicated. The skyscraper was built on the former site of the Iroquois Hotel. Standing at a staggering 21 stories, the building was designed by Minoru Yamasaki, famous for being the designer of the original World Trade Center. Interestingly, the steel used for the building was sourced locally from Bethlehem Steel.
