#OnThisDay In 1917, Jack “The Human Fly” Williams scales the Main St. facade of the Iroquois Hotel. Williams was hired by William Conners, the proprietor of Buffalo newspapers, Courier and Enquirer, to bring attention to the city of Buffalo and his papers. Notably, Williams did the climb with no harness, netting or extra safety precautions.
