#OnThisDay In 1970, The Buffalo Braves are incorporated. The Braves were a part of the NBA’s 1970 Expansion, along with the Portland Trail Blazers and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The first two years for the Braves were led and coached by NBA Legend and Member of the NBA 75 team Dolph Shayes.
The Braves only played in Buffalo until 1978, following organized efforts for it to fail by college basketball fans of Buffalo as well as the owner trading away all talent. The Braves moved to San Diego, becoming the Clippers. Eventually they moved to Los Angeles. Sometimes the Clippers wear a Braves jersey to commeorate them.
Fun Fact: The Braves were founded the same year as the Buffalo Sabres!
