#OnThisDay In 1871, The cornerstone of what used to be Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church is laid. The church, which is located at Delaware and West Tupper, was rescued from being demolished by Buffalo native and singer-songwriter, Ani DiFranco.
The project took over a decade but was reopened as a concert venue named Babeville, in honor of DiFranco’s label, Righteous Babe. The main concert venue is also named Asbury Hall, in honor of the churches original namesake.
