#OnThisDay In 1878, Red Jacket Hotel is destroyed by fire. Built of brick, the hotel of Old Buffalo used to be located at the corner of Elk St. and Seneca. There is now an assisted living facility where it once stood. The hotel was dedicated to Red Jacket, a prominent member of WNY history who was a Seneca chief as well as an orator. Red Jacket is buried here in Buffalo at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Had you ever heard of this hotel? It was hard to find any pictures or info on the hotel so I am super curious if anyone has heard of it or seen other photos/illustrations.
