#OnThisDay In 1940, Centennial Park is renamed to Lasalle Park. The park is Buffalo’s largest waterfront park. It is located where the Niagara River empties into the Lake Erie, next to the Col. Ward Pumping Station. The site was formerly a dumping ground until cries for more Buffalo parks led to the area being fixed and transformed into the park it is today!
