#OnThisDay In 1975, The West Side Rowing Club is destroyed by fire. The building was rebuilt in only 5 years time! The club continued to expand over the years, allowing women to join following the fire. In 2022, Women membership outnumbered Men’s.
With expanding interest in the club, they looked to expand around 2007. The WSRC was able to secure Frank Lloyd Wright’s design ‘Fontana Boathouse’ which was intially meant for The University of Wisconsin.
