#OnThisDay In 1867, Frank Lloyd Wright is born. For those who are unfamiliar, Lloyd Wright is one of the most renowed architects of all-time, especially the 19th and 20th centuries. Frank Lloyd Wright’s importance and influence on the City of Buffalo cannot be understated.
The City of Buffalo actually houses ten(!!) Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, from palatial and ecclectic estates such as The Darwin Martin House or Graycliff Estate to simple filling stations (Filling Station at Pierce Arrow Museum) and boathouses (Fontana Boathouse). Unfortunately, we lost the beautiful Larkin Adminstration Building but a infomation marker remains at the former site.
