#OnThisDay The Statler Hotel opens in Buffalo. It was Ellworth Statler’s second “Hotel Statler” in the city with the predecessor becoming “Hotel Buffalo”. The building was commissioned by George B. Post and Sons, whom had designed the Statler Hotels across the nation.
The Statler, which has changed hands a few times since its inception, is a stark reminder of Buffalo’s storied ornate past. From the beautiful brick exterior to massive elaborate ball room, The Statler Building is a testament to Buffalo’s dedication to architecture.
