#OnThisDay In 1966, The Wilcox Mansion is designated as a historic place. Previously the house of Ansley Wilcox and family, Theodore Roosevelt was inaugurated to President there following McKinley’s death. After the Wilcox’s deaths, the home became a restaurant until 1961. The home was rescued by historic designationn as it had fallen into disrepair. You still can visit the Wilcox Mansion today to learn its history.
