#OnThisDay In 1917, Women gain the right to vote in New York. The amendment to grant women to vote in NY was passed by an 80,000 vote majority. New York was the first state east of the Mississippi River to pass a women’s suffrage amendment. Women gained the right to vote nationwide in 1919.
