The band was one of the most popular and successful of the era, with many artists citing it with fondness or as inspiration. The band disbanded following Glenn Miller’s enlistment into the army. Unfortunately, Miller disappeared on a flight over the English Channel in 1942. Miller’s lasting legacy lives on through his timeless music.
