#OnThisDay In 1850, A group of abolitionists meet in Collins, NY to protest the Fugitive Slave Act. In the 1840s-50s, Buffalo was a hotbed for abolitionist activities. Weeks earlier, Black residents of Buffalo published a resolution condemining the act/bill. Buffalo was also a bustling “station” on the Underground Railroad.
