#OnThisDay In 1979, The Colored Musicians Club is landmarked by Buffalo’s preservation board. The state also granted the building historical landmark status, eventually gaining Natioanl Registry 20 years later. Located on Broadway, the building hosted Jazz greats such as Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie and Duke Ellington.

Now, the building serves as not only a venue to perform still but as a museum serving as a looking glass into the storied past of the Club. The building is set to be renovated and upgraded soon, so make sure to keep an eye out!

Have you ever gotten to see a performance here or even gone to the museum inside?
