#OnThisDay In 1901, President William McKinley succumbs to his gunshot wounds, passing away at John Milburn’s gome, which is now the grounds on which Canisius High School stands on now, with a placque commemorating the home along the sidewalk.

McKinley was shot my anarchist Leon Czolgosz at the Pan-American Exposition a week earlier. Theodore Roosevelt arrived in Buffalo later that afternoon and was sworn into office.
