#OnThisDay In 1981, The Lancaster Opera House re-opens. The Opera House had originally opened in 1896 and was rescued from disuse and neglect as a part of Lancaster’s Bicentennial Project back in 1975, with both private and public funding. Following six long years of hard work of restoration, the Opera House re-opened and still operates to this day.
