#OnThisDay In 1913, The Allendale Theatre opens. One of Buffalo’s first neighborhood theatres, it was built by department store owner, Levin Michaels. After years of neglect and disrepair, the Allentown Association saved it from demolition back in 1986. The City of Buffalo and Theatre of Youth entered a partnership to maintain the theatre and is still run by Theatre of Youth to this day!

Did you ever get to see a show here when it was the Allendale? I remember field trips to the Theatre of Youth growing up!
