#OnThisDay In 1904, Mercy Hospital opens at the intersection of Tifft Street and South Park Avenue. It was opened by the Sisters of Charity to extend their helping care into South Buffalo and initally only had 30 beds. Decades later, it moved to a much large facility on Abbott Road, where it still operates to this day.
