The hotel gained popularity, becoming the heart of Buffalo’s Black entertainment scene, hosting the likes of Louis Armstrong, Billie Holliday and many more legendary names. The Hotel was so historically important that it was granted National Historical status on the National Register. Unfortunately, the buidling built down due to a kitchen fire in 1993.
