#OnThisDay In 1867, The Angola Horror occurs. Two passenger cars, located at the back of the train, derail and uncouple from train while crossing truss bridge over Big Sister Creek. The last car plunged from the bridge into the gorge, bursting into flames. Unfortunately, 49 people lost their lives, with dozens more injured.
