Hartman’s Distilling Co. emerged from a heartfelt desire to reconnect with home and nurture cherished moments. After spending nearly a decade in the fast-paced life of New York City, Jen and Justin Hartman returned to their hometown of Buffalo, New York. Driven by their love for fine spirits and the longing to spend quality time with loved ones, they established Hartman’s on the scenic banks of the Buffalo River. Their goal is simple yet meaningful: to create a space where people can slow down, savor life’s flavors, and build lasting memories with family and friends.
Meet the Master Distiller
Justin Hartman, co-founder and master distiller of Hartman’s Distilling Co., infuses his passion and expertise into every bottle. His fascination with distilling was sparked in moments shared with his father and brother over exceptional bourbon, where laughter, connection, and storytelling took center stage.
Justin refined his craft through years of dedication, traveling across the country to study distilling, barreling, aging, and blending. His education includes graduating from the highly regarded Moonshine University in Louisville, Kentucky, where he gained mastery in blending techniques inspired by 18th-century French winemaking traditions. Justin also explored the science of barrel aging and developed his own belief that Western New York’s climate rivals that of Ireland or Scotland, making it ideal for aging world-class spirits.
