#OnThisDay In 1851, The Prospect Reservoir is completed. Built on Prospect Hill, the reservoir served as Buffalo’s primary source for drinking water for years. It served as the main source of water until 1893, following the completion of the second Prospect Reservoir, located at Best St. and Jefferson Ave, where War Memorial Stadium would eventually stand. The site of the original “Old Prospect Reservoir” is where the Connecticut Street Armory now stands.
Did you know that a reservoir used to stand there?
