#OnThisDay In 1969, Buddy Guy performs three nights in a row at the former Governor’s Inn House of Blues. The Governor’s Inn was a blues bar that was owned by blues singer James Peterson, father of Lucky Peterson, a blues musician who in his own right is a member of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. The blues bar was only open brielfly from 1965-1971 but hosted a handful of blues legends in it’s short life. It’s basically a venue of legend. I could find dozens of articles stating that the Governor’s Inn was a blue bar owned by James Peterson, with even a poem mentioning the club. Despite all that, I cannot find a single photo of it; the background of this photo is Buffalo in the 60s. Did you get see this legendary performance? Did you ever get to see a show at the Governor’s Inn? This Buffalo history post was brought to you by Hi-Fi Hits Records and More!
