About Scott Levin
Scott Levin is a multiple Emmy and Edward R. Murrow award-winning anchor who joined WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, NY, in the fall of 1998 as the anchor for the 5, 6, 10, and 11 o’clock news.
Scott grew up in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, graduating from Wayland High School before earning his B.S. from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. Following his graduation, he embarked on a successful ten-year business career in Virginia and New York City before transitioning to journalism.
Scott began his journalism career in Yakima, Washington, where he learned the business from the ground up at KNDO-TV. As a “one-man band,” he shot, wrote, edited, reported, and anchored the evening news. His next role took him back to Virginia, where he served as the morning and noon news anchor for WWBT-TV, the leading news station in Central Virginia. After five years there, he moved to Buffalo, NY, to become the evening news anchor at WGRZ-TV, where he played a significant role in establishing WGRZ-TV as the overall news leader in the Western New York market.
Scott’s accolades include multiple Emmy Awards and the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award. Under his tenure, WGRZ also won the 2011 AP Award for Station of the Year and numerous NYSBA awards for Best Newscast. Despite these professional achievements, Scott considers his greatest award to be his role as a husband and father. He met his wife, Lisa, while living in Buffalo, and they now have two beautiful daughters, Kayla and Sophia.
Scott and Lisa reside in Clarence Center, NY, and are dedicated to giving back to the local community. They are often seen at local charity events. In his personal time, Scott enjoys reading, listening to Christian music, and spending time with his family.
