For 12 Gates Brewing Company, it’s more than just brewing to them; in way, it is a gateway into their world. The name “12 Gates” finds its inspiration from George Ripley’s book on alchemy, “The Compound of Alychymy” or Ripley’s Twelve Gates. The inspiration comes from the Ninth gate, Fermentation, the very process that creates beers, ciders and most alcohol that is “brewed”.

!2 Gates Brewing Company was founded and established in 2015, just east of the city in Williamsville. Over the past 8 years, 12 Gates has “brewed” and “fermented” into a strong, full “ale” of a business. In that time, 12 Gates established core beers including their most popular and flagship beer, their West Coast Style IPA. 12 Gates is constantly pushing the limits of taste and quality through their brews, embodying the essence of alchemy.

12 Gates is a great destination to drink at as well, with accessible outdoor seating, light fare and occasional live music. 12 Gates has not just been limited to our Greater Niagara area, establishing a taproom in Ellicottville, NY as well.
