About Buffalo Brewpub

The Wise Old Man of Buffalo’s Brewing Community

Buffalo Brewpub, essentially, was way ahead of their time. Following the collapse of the beer industry in Buffalo, when Iroquouis and Simon Pure Brewing both went out of business in the 1970s, there was no beer being brewing for decades. That all changed on Halloween in 1986 when Buffalo Brewpub burst onto the scene!

At the time, Buffalo Brewpub was not only the only brewpub in the Western New York region, but all of New York, making them the oldest brewpub in the state! Buffalo Brewpub laid the way for Buffalo to become the brewing hub that we know now.

The Brewpub prides itself on brewing their own beers in house. They do it simply for the love of beer and the community it spawns. This is clear in their selection, touting some of the best and most popular beers brewed in the area.

As mentioned in a previous blurb about Flying Bison, it is mentioned how the roots of Flying Bison are deep in Buffalo Brewpub. The pub served as the initial “brainstorm” for the founders, inspiring them to brew their own beers.

Buffalo Brewpub is one of the best places to have a beer in Buffalo, with 10 of their own beers on draft (based on season) as well as 14 guest taps and popular beers too!
