The Spirit of Record Theatre Alive and Well

Stepping into Hi-Fi Hits on Main St. in Williamsville, a feeling of uncanny familiarity and nostalgia may overcome you. Don’t fret, your brain is just recognizing the late great staple for Western New York, Record Theatre.

Opening back in 2019, Hi-Fi Hits marked the beginning of a journey for Record Theatre’s former manager and longtime employee, Joe Igielinski. Igielinski, familiarly known as Iggy, had spent a few decades holding down Hamburg’s Record Theatre and overseeing Main-Lexington’s final days.

Hi-Fi Hits provides Buffalo with that classic record store feel of the 90s and 00s, with its tall spacious ceilings, walls full of posters and enough CDs and Vinyl to fill a small family home floor to ceiling. Seriously. Hi-Fi Hits probably has the largest single location amount of records in Buffalo.

And what makes crate diggin’ even more fun? Drinks! Hi-Fi even has a bar, stocked with draft beer, wine, canned seltzer and beer and sodas! Hi-Fi Hits also hosts concerts and meet-and-greets, whether its a local legend, up-and-coming band or artists from another city.
