#OnThisDay In 1937, Buffalo Common Council orders that Ferry Circle to be removed and the island paved over. Ferry Circle was a a part of Frederick Law Olmsted’s Buffalo park system, shown by it’s magnificence. In 2002, the island and light fixture are restored to replicate the original circle and still stands there to this day since restoration. Did you ever know they had originally removed Ferry Circle? I live in this neighborhood now and it’s kind of hilariously “Buffalo” that at one point this had been removed.
