We’re starting a new series called Harvest Highlights where every week we’ll pick something you can do around the Buffalo area to get in the spirit of the fall season. Today we’ll be featuring Letchworth State Park.
Letchworth State Park is known as the “Grand Canyon of the East” due to its deep gorge throughout the park. One of the best times to visit Letchworth is during fall because of its stunning colors, waterfalls, and hiking trails. As you’re walking through Letchworth, there are so many different beautiful things to look at.
Along with hiking through the trails, you can go horseback riding through some of the trails. If you don’t feel comfortable horseback riding through the park, they have places you can ride that aren’t too far from the park.
While Letchworth is not in Buffalo, it is only about an hour drive and it is definitely worth taking the drive.
