About Lou Gehrig Youth Baseball
Lou Gehrig: Youth Baseball League
Lou Gehrig Youth Baseball & Softball runs a dedicated house baseball program that provides opportunities for players of all ages to develop their skills and enjoy the game. The league offers divisions starting with instructional play for 4- and 5-year-olds, progressing through Machine Pitch, Majors for ages 9–12, and a Senior division for players 13–15 on full-size fields. With an emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and growth, the program creates a supportive environment where young athletes can learn the fundamentals, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of baseball.
The Lou Gehrig Iron Horse Travel Baseball program provides a competitive, community-focused environment for youth players aged 8 to 17. With teams at each age level, the program emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while players not selected for travel teams are encouraged to continue growing in the house league.
Since our establishment in 1952. It has since grown into one of Western New York’s largest community-based baseball and softball organizations.
- 10 Fields: Smaller fields for instructional and machine pitch levels ensure younger players can learn fundamentals with confidence, while older divisions transition to intermediate and full-size 90’ fields that align with standard competitive play and prepare athletes for advanced levels of baseball.
