#OnThisDay In 1800, Millard Fillmore is born into poverty in the Finger Lakes. Fillmore gained prominence as a lawyer in Buffalo during the 1820’s. He served in NYS Assembly until serving as Vice President for Zach Taylor in 1849. Fillmore later became President in 1850, following Taylor’s death. Fillmore is buried in Buffalo at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
