#OnThisDay In 1982, Sattler’s Deparment Stores file for bankruptcy, closing 5 of their 6 stores, including their flagship 998 Broadway location. The surviving Boulevard Mall location closed soon after. Sattler’s was founded out of John Sattlers mother’s home at 998 Broadway, as a shoe store when he was just 17 years old. Unfortunately, the998 Broadway landmark was demolished in 1987. Do you remember Sattler’s? Did you ever go to the Sattler’s at 998 Broadway?
